About Knowledge Peers

Knowledge Peers is a directors’ network with a difference.

We provide guidance on practical business issues that boards of established companies struggle with. We are unique because we cut out the armchair experts and enable business leaders to learn from each other. We actively seek out senior executives with many years of experience running complex organisations, and help our members to quickly tap into their experience via video interviews and various forms of personal networking.

Who are our members?

Knowledge Peers members run established businesses, typically with revenues of £1m to £100m, and who are looking for practical guidance on specific business challenges. Typically they would much rather talk to other directors who have faced the same problems, not “armchair experts”, so that they can compare their approaches with those of their peers. This is what we enable them to do.

We currently have over 4,000 members, a number which is growing very quickly. They are named, contactable individuals who have signed into our programme, 85% of whom are CEOs and other board directors of growth companies.

What topics do we cover?

The topics that we cover aren’t about general business - members get guidance on a range of complex issues that boards typically struggle with. Our role is to keep the field clear of hot air and sales pitches, and to make sure that our programme is addressing the questions they really care about.

Service for our members

We engage our members through a flexible programme of online and face-to-face interaction, all of which are designed to show members how others deal with the issues they are facing. This includes workshops, peer video interviews, Talking Guides, events and newsletters.

Via these facilities, we provide ample opportunities for suppliers and advisory firms who target growth companies to reach our audience of senior decision-makers.

Workshops

Starting with a shortlist of issues that boards of growing companies typically encounter, we set up a workshop for each issue and invite senior executives who are interested in or have relevant experience of the topic to participate. Our role is to facilitate knowledge sharing within this group. Workshop members set the agenda by asking us to consider the particular questions they are interested in.

Peer video interviews

During the course of the workshops, we conduct video interviews with directors of businesses who have dealt with similar issues in the past, plus carefully selected advisors and suppliers with relevant expertise to share. These videos are available for all our members to watch, and we see a high level of viral activity with members inviting their colleagues to watch videos they have found useful.

Talking Guides

Each Workshop culminates in the publication of a Talking Guide. Talking Guides summarise our findings and recommendations from workshops, using embedded video clips to bring key points from the interviews to life.

Events

We organise regular events, which have proved very popular and attract consistently high quality audiences. They provide the opportunity for members to meet each other face to face, and to discuss the issues we are addressing in our Workshops.

Newsletters

We send weekly newsletters to our members, highlighting some of the latest video interviews that we have completed as well as key findings from our workshops and Talking Guides. These newsletters enjoy a high opening rate and are very effective in encouraging our members to revisit our website.

Knowledge Centres

The video interviews and Talking Guides that we produce are stored by category in fully searchable Knowledge Centres.

Online networking

We make it easy for members to connect with each other online. Typically, this means they will contact interviewees who they have watched on video for more information. This is a powerful lead-generation tool for the advisors and suppliers that we interview.
